What NoteGrove does

One low-friction loop: write in Notes, organize into a plant when useful, and return as the idea grows.

  • Capture every thought directly in Notes without sorting it first.
  • Organize a note into a new or existing plant only when it helps.
  • See the ideas you are growing together in the Grove.
  • Return to a plant and add more notes over time.
  • Search across unsorted notes and notes already in plants.
  • Export a local backup archive when you want your own copy.
  • Capture from widgets and Shortcuts without opening the full app.

Who it is for

NoteGrove is for people who capture small thoughts, observations, and ideas but do not want them to disappear into a flat list. Notes stay easy to capture, while the Grove gives related thoughts a place to become something larger.

It is not a team workspace, publishing system, social network, or replacement for a large document editor.

Where it began

It started with a garden in a dream.

I woke with an image of a garden full of plants. The app that followed looks very different from that first picture, but the idea stayed: notes can become living things you return to and tend.

Privacy

Local-first, with a clear sync boundary.

Free NoteGrove stores your notes on your device. Plus can use Apple private iCloud sync for gardens and notes. Attachment files stay device-local for now, even when attachment metadata appears in synced app data.

NoteGrove has no developer-operated account or notes server, and the current launch build includes no ads, tracking, or developer analytics.

Camera, microphone, and speech access are optional and requested only when you choose a photo or voice input feature.
