The app, as it is.
Fresh simulator captures from the current native iPhone build, using its real Status, Map, Route Check, and Home Region experiences.

What Island Watch does
One native place to check what is current, where it matters, and which official source to trust next.
- Summarize plan-changing disruptions, lower-impact advisories, scheduled changes, and monitored items for a Home Region.
- Show source freshness and preserve a direct handoff to the official authority behind each item.
- Map current impacts without hiding their region or severity.
- Use Route Check to review monitored corridors between two regions without pretending to calculate directions.
- Keep the last successful status available when a fresh request cannot complete, with saved and freshness context visible.
- Make offline and stale states explicit instead of presenting old information as current.
Who it is for
Island Watch is for people whose plans depend on Vancouver Island roads, ferries, weather, access, and local authority updates, especially when checking many official pages separately is too slow.
It supports a decision; it does not replace emergency alerts, local authority instructions, or an official travel source.
Island Watch Plus
More local organization on this iPhone.
- Give watches their own names.
- Add extra areas beyond the Home Region.
- Save road and ferry targets that matter to a watch.
- Keep eligible source follows organized on this iPhone.
Remote notifications are not included in version 1.0. Plus in this release is described only by these local watch benefits.
Trust boundary
Home Region, watches, targets, eligible follows, and precise location matching stay on the device. The app still needs network access to request new official-source updates; cached status is fallback context, not a freshness claim.
